John Cooper is a person-centred counsellor and an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling Practitioners (BACP). He is also an accredited member of the College for Sex and Relationship Therapy (COSRT).
He works with clients of all ages who have sought counselling for various reasons including depression, anxiety and stress. He also specialises in the field of psychosexual therapy and welcomes enquiries from both individuals, couples and other relationship types. John offers clients both long and short-term therapy, according to their needs.
Amongst John’s training, he has completed an Advanced Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a two year Diploma in Psychosexual and Couple Therapy at Regents College in London. He has worked with clients with psychosexual issues in an NHS setting alongside his private practice, as well as working voluntarily with young people and with the LGBT youth community. He also provides short-term therapy to EAP (Employee Assistance Programme) clients.
John adheres to the BACP code of ethics and attends regular supervision. He also has full liability insurance and up-to-date CRB clearance. He is committed to ongoing training to further his professional development, and has recently completed courses in anger management, Mindfulness, BDSM and developing emotional resilience.
